This workshop is open for kids (8–12 years old). Our pedagogical assistant Ayke (NL/ENG) will be present to support the children throughout the workshop. h y p e r l i n k i n g : collective reading of excerpts of texts that deal with topics of punchcards, weaving, textile production and binary code
0 + 1 : making punchcards ! we will make our own punch cards with the basic materials of paper and holemakers - there will be knitted examples of patterns for reference
p u b l i s h i n g : the punchcards can be read by the knitting machine and in this way published - we will bind the knitted punchcards into a little booklet and have a collective published soft textile book

Veronika and Bodil are both graduates from the Rietveld Academy and met while working in a yarn shop, since then they have been brewing knit machine plans, they are knit nerds that are looking to become computer nerds, will be handing out knit knowledge in exchange for code knowledge ♡
